Rice And Spinach Casserole

I wasn’t planning on writing about this, but it just turned out so yummy I have to share! ^^

I was looking for a recipe for something with spinach and of course I turned to Pinterest. I found thisrice and spinach casserole.

image

Let me tell you it is sooo simple and delicious.
I did some adjustments of course. I never follow the recipes to the dot and I never weigh things, I just eye ball it. Is that good? Probably not. Hhh x) But it works for me.
What I did was…

Ingredients:

  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Spinach
  • Cheese (I used cheddar)
  • Rice (brown in my case)
  • Salami
  • Carrot
  • Egg
  • Bread crumbs
  • Milk
  • Greek yoghurt (I don’t know if that actually does anything for the recipe, but I put it in anyways lol)

How to:

  1. On a pan fry a bit of garlic, onion and spinach (I guess you could steam it too or put it in fresh, just chopped)
  2. Cook rice
  3. Mix everything in a big bowl: rice, spinach, carrot, cheese, egg, salami, milk, yoghurt
  4. Put it in an oiled baking dish and sprinkle with some bread crumbs
  5. Bake it in a preheated oven and toward the end put a bit more cheese on top for about 3-5 minutes so it melts nicely.
  6. Voila! That’s it!

Hat’s how I did it. You do your own thing.
If I had them, I would love to put mushroomsΒ in. Next time. To make it healthier, cut out the cheese or maybe put in riccota.

Sorry for the pics. These are actually the only two I took to send to my friends on WhatsApp. That’s why they’re bad.

Fat Bell Peppers

I made this yesterday and unfortunately I didn’t take good pics. I just ate it all. hhh
These are just some pictures that I quickly took to show off to a friend through WhatsApp.

I found this one on Pinterest and like the rest of my recipes, it’s quick and easy.

Ingredients:

  • bell peppers
  • rice
  • mushrooms
  • broccoli
  • bacon
  • cheese
  • eggs

How to:

  1. Cook the rice and broccoli (separately of course).
  2. Fry theΒ mushrooms and bacon on a frying pan and mix it with rice.
  3. Hollow out the insides of the bell peppers and put them in the oven at 200 C for about 10-15 min.
  4. After you take it out, fill it with the rice, bacon, mushrooms, broccoli and on top crack an egg and top it off with cheese. Put it back in the oven for about another 15 min. Check it and see if you need to leave it in more (all depends how you want your egg to be).

Basically, I just put in whatever I found in my fridge. Be creative and put something else inside! I did a very similar thing already, but with a potato! Yum! πŸ˜€

How To Tuna Burgers

Time for one more recipe! Like the only ones I know, quick and easy and no measuring the ingredients! πŸ˜‰

I you are sick of eating canned tuna the same way all the time (all I know is tuna salad), this is great!

Ingredients

  • Canned tuna
  • Eggs
  • Bread crumbs
  • Onions and garlic
  • Carrots
  • Cheese
  • Lemon
  • Sesame seeds

IMG_20150203_142707

How to

1. Mix it all together

Simple as that. Put it all in a big bowl and get your hands dirty! Just mix it all together. You can put whatever you like. I put what I had in my fridge, but you can put whatever veggies you have. I like to put more of a lemon juice and lemon zest because I like the taste. Recommend it! Also, put enough bread crumbs so it has a nice texture and it doesn’t fall apart when you make them into little burgers.

2. Fry it

Make them into little burgers and fry them on the pan.

3. Eat them! πŸ™‚

Easy, huh? πŸ˜€

Hope you will make some!

If you know any other recipe with canned tuna, please share! I have so much of it in the fridge! XD

DIY Zipper Love

I love zippers! They are so versatile!

There are a lot of refashions where adding only an exposed zipper changes the whole look and gives it a new and a bit edgier look.
Today I will show you someΒ inspiration andΒ accessories you can make using this ordinary item.

This is a pic of a simple flower you can use for almost anything – brooch, ring, bracelet, you can put it on a headband, necklace – anywhere!

zippers

Follow this tutorial to make the zipper rose (out of the whole zipper) and here is another way where you first cut it up into smaller pieces.

Here is another version. I do it by sewing a loose thread first, pulling it gently and then making a circle, sewing it together as I go, but you can just take your glue gun and start making a desired shape. Guess it’s much quicker.

Prsten Iva

But my favourite ring is this (tutorial)! πŸ™‚

Prsten Zipper Spiral

And the bracelet I absolutely adore wearing. I didn’t use any tutorial, I just looked at the pictures and followed the lines.

I found this you tube tutorial only later.

Zipper infinity

Now that you’ve seen what I’ve done here is a little collage full of inspiration of what else you could do. If you click on the second collage it will lead you to tutorials to all of the 12 bracelets. πŸ™‚

I really hope some of you will take the time and create your own little art from the zippers! If you do, let me know! πŸ˜‰

Have a great day and don’t forget – I’m also on Bloglovin’ now! =)

HOW TO ”Fried” Rice My Way

Got home today from a flight hun-gry! Had to cook something so of course I turned to my go to quick meal – ”fried” rice!

I put it under quotes because it’s not really fried rice. It is my version of it, but still very yummy! πŸ™‚

Ingredients

  • Rice
  • Veggies
  • Onions
  • Soy Sauce
  • Bacon (or some other meat)
  • Cheese

IMG_20150201_153202 Β IMG_20150201_160354

How To

1. Cook the veggies.

Usually, I use fresh ones, but didn’t have any so I had to resort to frozen ones. Use anything you like – carrots, peas, corn, mushrooms, paprika… Whatever you like!

IMG_20150201_154736

2. Cook the rice.

I don’t have a rice cooker so I do it old school way. Put the rice on oil for a short time and then put water in, add some salt and cover it until the water is gone. I use 1:1.5-2 ratio (rice:water) which means for one cup of ice, I put one and a half to two cups of water.

IMG_20150201_160548

3. Fry onions and bacon (this step is optional).

I always fry onions (or garlic). I just feel it gives the meal extra nice taste and smell, but if you don’t like it, you don’t have to use it.

This time I used bacon, but other times I also put in hot dogs or chicken. Basically, you can use what you like. ItΒ is also optional. You don’t have to use it if you want a vegetarian version of a meal.

IMG_20150201_160858

4. Mix everything in a pan.

Mix veggies and rice and put it in a pan where you fried onions and bacon.

IMG_20150201_161105

5. Add soy sauce.

Simple a that. Add soy to everything. You don’t need a lot.

IMG_20150201_161646

6. Add eggs.

Make a whole in the middle of the pan and add an egg or two (you’ll see how much you’ll need). Start stirring slowly mixing the egg into everything so the egg connects it all.

IMG_20150201_161331

7. Add cheese.

Nice cheese which will melt all over! Yum! πŸ™‚

8. Enjoy!

IMG_20150201_162044

Maybe it doesn’t look so good, but believe me it is tasty! Whenever I make it, it goes so fast! =)

As you can see, this recipe doesn’t require any measurements and you can add or remove any ingredients as you like.

I am not much of a cook, nor do I claim to know how to. I am just sharing this recipe in hopes some hungry, inexperienced student or beginner will try it and like it.

If you do, please let me know and post some pictures of your version!

Bon Appetit Guys! =))

DIY Head Chain

It’s spring time! I’m ignoring the rain outside.

For the longest I’ve been watching these head chains on E bay. They look so nice and they give off some hippy look which is great for spring. I finally got around to making one.

Image

I don’t think a tutorial is really needed because it’s self explanatory and I didn’t use any, but here is one anyway (I waste my time on the net searching for those kinds of things so you don’t have to x)).

You can make it as simple or elaborate as you’d like. Here is some inspiration…

Image

Hope this inspires you to make one and that you’ll share your craft! πŸ™‚

Scrap Fabric pt. 5

I hope you made your fabric flowers because I’ve found sooo many wonderful inspirations out there!

First thing I thought of were necklaces. Especially since I already made the denim necklace at the bottom.

Image

And you have to have a bracelet to go with it…

Image

… and a ring.

Image

I also found these really great flower belts. I like the idea of them with a wedding dress. It looks so dainty and it really brings that little something extra to the dress, don’t you agree?

Image

A wonderful gift, especially for little girls is a headband.

Image

You can embellish your old T-shirt.

Image

Some other ideas is to make a key chain, put them on a pillowcase, a hair clip or a hair elastic, string them up on a cord and make a party decoration, make a bouquet…Β When I saw some of the wedding bouquets it made me question is a real flower bouquet really necessary? They look that elegant!

Image

Image

What I usually do is just make them into a brooch. That way I can get the most out of it and put it anywhere I like. I accessorize my bag with it, wear it in my hair, on a T-shirt… Basically, just put it anywhere I like!

For the end here is a tut on making these lovely flower decorations.

What do you think? Did I leave anything out?! πŸ™‚
