OOTD DIY Wrapped Necklace

His whole outfit revolves around this necklace I’ve made. What do you think about it? I hope you like it.

That’s why the outfit is so simple.

I wore a simple black T shirt to accentuate the necklace and bring it to focus point. Paired with ripped jeans just to give it a more edgy and interestig look. All with my lovely Startas of course. Just add a nice red lipstick and you’re ready to go!

What do you think?

OOTD It’s All About The Shoes

Finally another OOTD.

This one is connected to the post I did a couple of days ago about Minimalist Living. In short, instead of doing the capsule wardrobe, I am just going to keep track of what I wore through January (and other months) and I’ll get a better sense of what my capsule wardrobe will be like. You can read the post here.

A friend and I decided to just go out for drinks and see from there where it takes us. So I didn’t want to dress too fancy. Needless to say, we ended up clubbing! XD

In the end I just wore dark blue skinny jeans and a plain white T-shirt. Boring, huh?
I thought so too, but then I wore this gorgeous gold heels and everything changed! hhhh And of course, I need a little pop of colour so I chose this beautiful blue clutch.

For make up I had bright lipstick. I guess I could have worn some kind of a statement necklace , but I really wanted to wear this handmade necklace I was working on, but I didn’t finish it in time. But keep a look out, I’ll show it to you guys soon! πŸ˜‰ I am really interested in what you think!

If you ask me, simple but efficient!

OOTD Capsule Wardrobe

Hi everyone!

I was looking at my wardrobe and was surprised how much stuff I have that I don’t actually wear!
Do you have the same feeling as I do?
I know it is sad we wear only 20% of our wardrobe, but for me I think it is even less.

Since I changed my jobs and I wear a uniform now, my needs have changed also. I don’t need to worry any more about what to wear to work every day (which is actually a relief, I can tell you that ;)). Also, with this job, I don’t have time for my previous hobbies, so my closet doesn’t need to be that versatile any more.

What do I need? TO DECLUTTER!

I heard about CAPSULE WARDROBE and I googled it. It is actually a pretty interesting concept. In a nutshell, you choose around 33-37 items (including outerwear and shoes) using the rule of 3. You choose 3 jeans, 3 shorts, 3 T-shirts, 3 button ups, 3 shoes… You get the picture. You war it for a season, reuse some stuff for the next capsule and the rest you pack up.

So this outfit is inspired by the capsule wardrobe concept with the things I would keep.

As you can see I kept it pretty simple and just put a statement necklace to add a pop of colour.
I think it is very important to choose the right colour palette and you can already find someΒ on line to choose from because it really is overwhelming when you start.

The thing with the capsule wardrobe is I don’t know if I could do it! 😦
I like choices. I like dressing how I feel. I like being able to pick any style from baggy jeans to pretty dresses.
With this, you have to choose one and stick to it.

Is anyone doing the capsule wardrobe challenge or tried it? I am really interested in hearing your experience and how you liked it?! Or didn’t? Please leave a comment.

** Also, one of my New Year resolutions is to bring this blog to life! πŸ˜€ I know it’s not New Year yet, but never too early, huh? πŸ˜‰ I’ll be posting more often and it’s going to be a different concept. More about my travels, OOTDs, products I like, DIY, in other words – lifstyle! **

DIY Zipper Love

I love zippers! They are so versatile!

There are a lot of refashions where adding only an exposed zipper changes the whole look and gives it a new and a bit edgier look.
Today I will show you someΒ inspiration andΒ accessories you can make using this ordinary item.

This is a pic of a simple flower you can use for almost anything – brooch, ring, bracelet, you can put it on a headband, necklace – anywhere!

zippers

Follow this tutorial to make the zipper rose (out of the whole zipper) and here is another way where you first cut it up into smaller pieces.

Here is another version. I do it by sewing a loose thread first, pulling it gently and then making a circle, sewing it together as I go, but you can just take your glue gun and start making a desired shape. Guess it’s much quicker.

Prsten Iva

But my favourite ring is this (tutorial)! πŸ™‚

Prsten Zipper Spiral

And the bracelet I absolutely adore wearing. I didn’t use any tutorial, I just looked at the pictures and followed the lines.

I found this you tube tutorial only later.

Zipper infinity

Now that you’ve seen what I’ve done here is a little collage full of inspiration of what else you could do. If you click on the second collage it will lead you to tutorials to all of the 12 bracelets. πŸ™‚

I really hope some of you will take the time and create your own little art from the zippers! If you do, let me know! πŸ˜‰

Have a great day and don’t forget – I’m also on Bloglovin’ now! =)

Scrap Fabric pt. 5

I hope you made your fabric flowers because I’ve found sooo many wonderful inspirations out there!

First thing I thought of were necklaces. Especially since I already made the denim necklace at the bottom.

And you have to have a bracelet to go with it…

… and a ring.

I also found these really great flower belts. I like the idea of them with a wedding dress. It looks so dainty and it really brings that little something extra to the dress, don’t you agree?

Image

A wonderful gift, especially for little girls is a headband.

Image

You can embellish your old T-shirt.

Image

Some other ideas is to make a key chain, put them on a pillowcase, a hair clip or a hair elastic, string them up on a cord and make a party decoration, make a bouquet…Β When I saw some of the wedding bouquets it made me question is a real flower bouquet really necessary? They look that elegant!

What I usually do is just make them into a brooch. That way I can get the most out of it and put it anywhere I like. I accessorize my bag with it, wear it in my hair, on a T-shirt… Basically, just put it anywhere I like!

For the end here is a tut on making these lovely flower decorations.

What do you think? Did I leave anything out?! πŸ™‚

DIY Elegant Necklace

I just made this for a friend. Hope you like it! πŸ™‚

Image

What I used:

  • chains of different thickness
  • jump rings
  • satin ribbon
  • a bead
  • lace

The idea is that you can wear it longer or shorter, depending on how long you leave the satin ribbonΒ and tie it. You can also make the flower as a brooch so you can take it off or leave it. However you like it better.

Later! πŸ™‚
