New Wardrobe Project

I haven’t written anything in a while. I was on a vacation back home and I really didn’t do anything! I just enjoyed…  I wasn’t posting on Instagram, Facebook, didn’t take any pictures… Nothing! When was the last time you did that? 😉

But now I am back in my apartment, back to reality, doing laundry and what not. It’s the simple things in life, ey? hhh 😉

Since my little wardrobe project is over, I am thinking what to do next?

I am slowly trying to implement some zero waste lifestyle changes. I have my reusable bottle, reusable bag and I am working on getting some other things. If you have any tips, please leave a comment. 🙂

Wardrobe wise, I am now thinking doing something else. Like not buying anything new for a certain period of time.
At first, I was thinking a year, but then I honestly don’t think I could do it! :S
One month passes really fast so how about 3 months? Yes!

I will not buy any new clothes, accessories or make up for 3 months! And then we’ll see how it goes…

Anyone else doing anything similar? Tell me how it’s going!

Please follow me on Instagram and Facebook!

Who is gonna be my 150th Instagram follower?! Kind of a big deal for me! hhh

And oh, should I maybe do more OOTDs – anyone interested in that?

Bye! ;D

Minimalist Living – November

One more month to goooo! 😀

This is what I wore in November.

In addition to the everything you see here, I also wore a winter coat.

Now, one more month to go and then I’ll see how the closet cleaning will go.

Honestly, I am really interested because not even I am sure how strong I’ll be and how it will go! x)

Keep tuned, almost there! 😀

Minimalist Living – October

I am sorry I am late. I’ve been a bit busy.

I was on vacation to Cuba (yaaaay!) and straight after – work. Didn’t even have time to unpack and do my laundry so I fell a bit behind.

Now that I finally have days off, this is what I wore in October. I’ll show you pre and post Cuba.

My regular month.

As you can see nothing much changed. I’m still sticking to the basics with a plain black T-shirts and a pair of jeans.

Now, this is what I wore to Cuba.

I also stuck to the basics with blacks and whites, but I tried bringing something interesting in with the lace and ruffles and the rivets. This is what I usually do. I get something simple, but I try to find something interesting on it like texture, cut or some detail I think is special. Do you do the same?

The dress I had in my closet for a while, but never got a chance to wear it. This was a perfect time for a photo shoot with beautiful Cuban 50’S cars! It reminds me of that era. It is simple yet beautiful!

And the skirt! It is H&M and I fell in love with it from the first time I saw it so when it came on sale – it was mine!

I paired it with off the shoulder ruffle white top and it looks very girly and delicate. I definitely feel special when I wear it.

How is your closet minimalism going?

And this is a good time to ask – how do you pack for holidays?

Do you go minimal and do you pack for every occasion? Because no matter how minimal I pack it seems to me I never wear all of what I bring! Do you have the same problem?

Please do leave a comment.

Have a good day everyone! =)

Minimalist Living – September

It seems to me that I wore much more clothes this month. Take a look.

Bottoms: 1 shorts, 1 jeans, 1 high waisted jeans (guys, these are sooo good and comfy I honestly recommend them – H&M) and 1 maxi skirt.

Tops: 3 shirts, 2 long sleeved T-shirts, 1 short sleeved and a tank top.

Outerwear: 1 blazer, 1 vest, 1 cardigan and 1 blanket as I call it x)

Shoes, as you can see, I have similar ankle booties. What I realized is I could spend most of my money coats and these kind of  booties! New weak spot! :/
The black and brown ones I bought only because they were so cheap (8$) and OMG they are the best buy ever! I’ve been out and about in them literally all day walking and exploring a new city and at the end of the day my feet didn’t hurt! Blessing! I love them!

I found that most of my items that I really love either came from a thrift shop or really cheap! How about you?

The all black ones, on the other hand, started hurting after only a few hours and I will most likely get rid of them. Same as the gray Startas. They are just old and worn out, but I am having seperating anxiety. Hhh Anyone else having these problems?

Just from looking at these pics I already know a few things I’m going to get rid of. Some of the clothes which are on the list, I wore just once and I realized they don’t make me feel that good when I wear them. 😦 Which is what your clothes are supposed to do in the end!

Just like my OOTD from September! Check it out here! 🙂

I just realized my experiment is coming to an end! One year of keeping track of my wardrobe almost done! Where does the time go!?

Two more months and I’ll take you on my wardrobe purge! December or January – still haven’t decided so stay tuned!

My First Thoughts on a Minimalist Closet

Six months have passed since I’ve started my little experiment.

For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about let me explain.

I am really intrigued with the idea of minimalist living and minimalist closet, but the thought of doing it now is a bit scary. That’s why I customized the idea to fit me.

I didn’t get rid of anything (yet), but I am simply keeping track of the outfits I wear and at the end of each month I do a post on what I wore.

You can take a look at all the months here:

As far as my dressing goes, I can definitely see a pattern and if I get rid of 90% of my wardrobe I can say I wouldn’t miss it.

TOP 3 THINGS I’VE LEARNED SO FAR

1.  You get to know yourself better

Once you start doing this for a while, you will get to know your style better.
You will see what you reach for and not and what you are missing in your closet. You will realize how many items you don’t really wear.

2. I don’t shop as much

Whenever I go to a mall and see something, I think twice now. I think back to this experiment, realize that I either have something similar in my closet already or I honestly say to myself that yes, it is nice, but I know deep down I wouldn’t really wear it.
Like I said, you get to know your styling needs better and thus you make better choices!

3. It is not that scary!

After half a year now I can honestly say the thought of getting rid of my clothes does not scare me that much anymore!
I have a pretty good picture of what I do and do not wear and what my lifestyle needs are. This helped me in a little wardrobe cleansing I already did.

In conclusion, I am really happy how my first six moths have passed! =)

I got to know myself better, I feel more free of the shopping frenzy and when I am getting dressed to go out I FEEL MORE CALM AND CONFIDENT.

What do you think?
Are you doing anything similar? If yes, what are your experiences? Do you agree with my thoughts?

I will be doing a post on how I cleaned out my closet.

So if you’re having trouble with it and are not sure how to approach it I will be sharing my experiences and how I tackled this problem. Stay tuned! 😉

Minimalist Living – June

Wow! It’s already been half a year since my little experiment started!

And I must say, I didn’t even feel it pass at all! And I didn’t miss anything!

Again I’m sticking to my well know.
Favourite skinny jeans and black T-shirt with some extra shirts. I am also proud of myself bacause I wore this romper and a dress which I wanted to do.
I think I had this romper in my closet for a looong time and never wore it. Didn’t have a chance so I’m happy I did! 🙂

Next month goal – also wear dresses! XD

Since it’s been half a year now, I will do a post on what I’ve learned now so stay tuned!

OOTD Elevator Selfie

Hey guys!

I found a selfie of mine from an elevator. With a duck face. Can it get any more cliche than that?! X’D

image

I was going out to meet my friends. I wanted to dress up a bit, but not too much.
That is why I chose this jersey pencil skirt (so comfy! ^^) and a simple black shirt.

image

I realized I l.o.v.e. this shirt! Whenever I don’t know what to wear I reach for this!
Maybe I should do Ways to wear on this one? What do you think? Please comment!

It is simple, black, you can dress it up or down, wear it with skirts or jeans – it doesn’t matter! It looks good with everything! And it is thrifted! I payed around 50 cents for it and got sooo much wear out of it! ❤

If you follow me and my minimalist experiment, you will recognize this from last month wardrobe. 😉

Hope you like it! ❤
