New Wardrobe Project

I haven’t written anything in a while. I was on a vacation back home and I really didn’t do anything! I just enjoyed… Β I wasn’t posting on Instagram, Facebook, didn’t take any pictures… Nothing! When was the last time you did that? πŸ˜‰

But now I am back in my apartment, back to reality, doing laundry and what not. It’s the simple things in life, ey? hhh πŸ˜‰

Since my little wardrobe project is over, I am thinking what to do next?

I am slowly trying to implement some zero waste lifestyle changes. I have my reusable bottle, reusable bag and I am working on getting some other things. If you have any tips, please leave a comment. πŸ™‚

Wardrobe wise, I am now thinking doing something else. Like not buying anything new for a certain period of time.
At first, I was thinking a year, but then I honestly don’t think I could do it! :S
One month passes really fast so how about 3 months? Yes!

I will not buy any new clothes, accessories or make up for 3 months! And then we’ll see how it goes…

Anyone else doing anything similar? Tell me how it’s going!

Please follow me on Instagram and Facebook!

Who is gonna be my 150th Instagram follower?! Kind of a big deal for me! hhh

And oh, should I maybe do more OOTDs – anyone interested in that?

OOTD Denim on Denim

Sun is out and shining, perfect time for shorts! Yaaay!

I went for a classic denim on denim look!Β

I paired dark denim shorts with a lighter denim shirt that has some interesting flowers details on it which brings an interesting element to it.
That is why Β I didn’t choose to wear any accessories. I didn’t feel it necessary and felt the outfit itself is enough.
And of course, my Startas canvas shoes are a must! Aren’t they great?! ;D

What do you think? Would you choose any accessories with it?

Like, comment and follow! =)

Kisses!

OOTD Elevator Selfie

Hey guys!

I found a selfie of mine from an elevator. With a duck face. Can it get any more cliche than that?! X’D

I was going out to meet my friends. I wanted to dress up a bit, but not too much.
That is why I chose this jersey pencil skirt (so comfy! ^^) and a simple black shirt.

I realized I l.o.v.e. this shirt! Whenever I don’t know what to wear I reach for this!
Maybe I should do Ways to wear on this one? What do you think? Please comment!

It is simple, black, you can dress it up or down, wear it with skirts or jeans – it doesn’t matter! It looks good with everything! And it is thrifted! I payed around 50 cents for it and got sooo much wear out of it! ❀

If you follow me and my minimalist experiment, you will recognize this from last month wardrobe. πŸ˜‰

Hope you like it! ❀

Minimalist Living – April

I am very late with this post. Been flying a lot and studying for my exams. May will also be hectic, but I promise I will start posting more about my travels so you can also see the cities where I go! ^^

Here is finally my minimalist wardrobe for April!

Not much, huh? πŸ˜‰
I went out a couple of times which is way you can see a striped shirt and a black top with some ruffles in the front.
But basically, everything else is the same. My favourite jeans and a must black T-shirt.

I must admit though, I’ve been bad! I went shopping! 😦

All on sale of course. Got some things I’ve been looking for, but also some I could do without. What to do??? :/
I hope I’m not the only one and that there are more of us out there! Hello? πŸ˜‰

If you guys are interested in how I style my minimalist months, please let me know and leave a comment below!

Fast Fashion

I just finished watching this GREAT, EYE OPENING documentary called THE TRUE COST and I immediately felt an urge to post about it.

It was released in 2015 (so I’m not that late with it) and explores the impact of fast fashion on today’s world – people who are involved in it, the workers, the exploitation, impact on environment and so on.

It is something I am sure we all know deep down and are aware of, but are deliberately ignoring it. Because if we do… we would have to accept the fact we are a part of it.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying stop buying clothes. Of course I buy them too. Honestly, I wouldn’t even know where to buy consciously produced clothes. I am sure there are a few, but further research is needed.

What I am saying is BE AWARE.Β Keep in mind what it took to produce your 5$ T-shirt.
Do you really need it? Do you need 3 black T-shirts? Do you need something you are not sure about? Is it just an instant high?
Is it necessary for a person to die or lose their legs in order to make it? Is it necessary the price is so low, that if you buy 2 of them, you just spent their monthly salary?

It is said by the psychologists that in modern society, more stuff we have, more we are alone and depressed. Can’t buy happiness. Is it an instant high shopping?
Like I was saying in my previous posts, I realized shopping doesn’t bring me as much joy as it used to when I was a kid. Is it the same for you?

Fashion is a great way to express yourself, no doubt about it. It is nice to fit in, ok. So you buy trendy, modern clothes. BUT, there is a difference between being in trend and having style!

If you have style, you don’t need to be trendy from season to season. If you have style, you are your own person. You know what you like and you have no problems with it and yourself.

All of thisΒ is also a reason why a capsule, minimalist wardrobe has been occupying my head lately. That is why I am doing my little experiment of tracking all my outfits to see what I do and do not wear. If you want to see how it goes, please follow.

When I go shopping now I ask myself 2 important questionsΒ first.

  1. Do I love it? – If I have even a little bit of hesitation about a garment, it’s not right! Don’t fool yourself! You know what you like and want, so why compromise? If the fit is not right, if it’s too long or short, if I feel weird in it, if the shade of the colour is wrong, if there is one small detail that’s on it and I didn’t imagine it like that – DON’T BUY! You know what you like, stick to it! Have patience, you’ll find it!
  2. Do I really need it? –Β Am I actually going to wear it or is it just cute at the moment and I won’t do anything with it when I get home (it happened). Is it the instant high? Maybe your friend is with you and you’re getting caught up in the moment? STOP AND THINK!

The first question by itself helped me a lot already.

Also, one of my goals is to try to shop for new things as little as possible. If I buy anything, I want to keep it to 12 items per year, that is 1 item per month.
But, before you buy something know your closet. I went through mine and I know what it lacks and also what I don’t need in it anymore. That’s way I won’t buy something just because.

So please, stop and think before you buy. Watch this documentary and become aware. I guess that is the point of my little rant here – become aware!

Here are two links to watch it on line.
