Minimalist Living – December

And it is finally here!

End of 2016 marks one year of me keeping track of my outfits. Boy, has it gone by so fast! Honestly, the older you get, faster the time passes you by! Don’t you think so?

I will do a post on what I’ve learned next year.;)

For now, this is what I wore.

I also wore a winter jacker and a winter coat.

I will be going home in January so I will be cleaning my closet a bit. I already did it once. Those things are packed in a box on a side and to tell you the truth, I don’t even remember what’s in it anymore! :/ Which means I don’t miss the clothes. Out of sight, out of mind!

And of course, with new year comes new resolutions. I will have to think about what I want to achieve next year with my wardrobe.

What I can tell you at the moment is that I do recommend this!

Go ahead and have a go! =)

OOTD Yellow Fever

Here’s a quick post on my OOTD today. Actually, I am still wearing it as I’m writing! That’s how fresh it is! XD

I know I’m wearing a lot of black lately, but I acutally L.O.V.E. colours and I very much admire african print and fashion!

This is I guess some kind of interpretation of it.

I paired this vibrant yellow Pull&Bear maxi skirt with a denim shirt. Bracelets I made myself. Leave a comment if you like them! ๐Ÿ™‚

I tied a scarf around my head. Especially now that I’m doing no poo. Hhhh But that’s another blog post.

I had simple flats and a small off white bag.

Hope you guys like it!

Minimalist Living -August

I definitely wore more clothes in August because I went on holidays… to Lisbon! Soo beautiful, but back to the topic at hand.

This is what I wore.

I’m glad I’m wearing more dresses. My goal is to get rid of majority of them and now I see slowly which ones.

The romper – if you’re following me you can recognize it from before here and here.

And I have a new pair of favourite jeans – high waisted ones! Finally! I hate when I am trying on jeans which are supposed to be high waisted and they are below the belly button! No! I’m sorry, but that is not high waisted! They have to be over the belly button! (Ok, mini rant over hh)

These are H&M. Only thing I don’t like is they don’t have front pockets. Only back, but can’t have it all I guess. Happy with them though! ๐Ÿ™‚ I need to get one pair in black.

I did have some OOTDs I really liked. My goal for the next month is to take pictures of them for you guys and post them of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

My First Thoughts on a Minimalist Closet

Six months have passed since I’ve started my little experiment.

For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about let me explain.

I am really intrigued with the idea of minimalist living and minimalist closet, but the thought of doing it now is a bit scary. That’s why I customized the idea to fit me.

I didn’t get rid of anything (yet), but I am simply keeping track of the outfits I wear and at the end of each month I do a post on what I wore.

You can take a look at all the months here:

As far as my dressing goes, I can definitely see a pattern and if I get rid of 90% of my wardrobe I can say I wouldn’t miss it.

TOP 3 THINGS I’VE LEARNED SO FAR

1. ย You get to know yourself better

Once you start doing this for a while, you will get to know your style better.
You will see what you reach for and not and what you are missing in your closet. You will realize how many items you don’t really wear.

2. I don’t shop as much

Whenever I go to a mall and see something, I think twice now. I think back to this experiment, realize that I either have something similar in my closet already or I honestly say to myself that yes, it is nice, but I know deep down I wouldn’t really wear it.
Like I said, you get to know your styling needs better and thus you make better choices!

3. It is not that scary!

After half a year now I can honestly say the thought of getting rid of my clothes does not scare me that much anymore!
I have a pretty good picture of what I do and do not wear and what my lifestyle needs are. This helped me inย a little wardrobeย cleansingย I already did.

In conclusion, I am really happy how my first six moths have passed! =)

I got to know myself better, I feel more free of the shopping frenzy and when I am getting dressed to go out I FEEL MORE CALM AND CONFIDENT.

What do you think?ย
Are you doing anything similar? If yes, what are your experiences? Do you agree with my thoughts?

I will be doing a post on how I cleaned out my closet.

So if you’re having trouble with it and are not sure how to approach it I will be sharing my experiences and how I tackled this problem. Stay tuned! ๐Ÿ˜‰

OOTD Elevator Selfie

Hey guys!

I found a selfie of mine from an elevator. With a duck face. Can it get any more cliche than that?! X’D

image

I was going out to meet my friends. I wanted to dress up a bit, but not too much.
That is why I chose this jersey pencil skirt (so comfy! ^^) and a simple black shirt.

image

I realized I l.o.v.e. this shirt! Whenever I don’t know what to wear I reach for this!
Maybe I should do Ways to wear on this one? What do you think? Please comment!

image

It is simple, black, you can dress it up or down, wear it with skirts or jeans – it doesn’t matter! It looks good with everything! And it is thrifted! I payed around 50 cents for it and got sooo much wear out of it! โค

If you follow me and my minimalist experiment, you will recognize this from last month wardrobe. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hope you like it! โค

I AmStardam

My recent travels took me to Amsterdam and I must say I loved it!
I really like cities like Amsterdam or Copenhagen where you live next to the river.

Ok, all major cities are situated next to a river, that’s history. But not all of them are charming as these two. No high buildings or skyscrapers. Just cute little houses. Looks more peaceful and sync with nature.

Since I only hadย 24 h I took a boat ride in the canals and a walk around the city centre.
The boat ride takes an hour and it is a nice way too see the city and learn something new.

These are some pics taken from the boat. It is a bit hard to take nice pics when the boat is moving all the time.

We were lucky with the weather. It was sunny and warm and perfect to wear just a sweater, no jacket.

I really love the architecture! I guess it’s a nice change from all the glass skyscrapers when you’re living in Dubai. X)

Of course, in the centre, you can smell the weed on the streets. It is not uncommon since it is legal along side with prostitution.

Here are some pics of the city. You can take pictures of the ladies in the Red District though.

What I also love is that they are a biking city! Biking culture is big! Everybody rides a bike, they have their own paths on the streets… Healthy life stlyes! Gotta love it! ๐Ÿ˜€

As you can see from pictures there are loads of little canals and about 1000 bridges. So there are plenty of places to walk around, explore and get lost in!

So go ahead and do it! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ps. And oh yeah! Rub a boob for good luck! Hhhh

Minimalist Living – April

I am very late with this post. Been flying a lot and studying for my exams. May will also be hectic, but I promise I will start posting more about my travels so you can also see the cities where I go! ^^

Here is finally my minimalist wardrobe for April!

Not much, huh? ๐Ÿ˜‰
I went out a couple of times which is way you can see a striped shirt and a black top with some ruffles in the front.
But basically, everything else is the same. My favourite jeans and a must black T-shirt.

I must admit though, I’ve been bad! I went shopping! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

All on sale of course. Got some things I’ve been looking for, but also some I could do without. What to do??? :/
I hope I’m not the only one and that there are more of us out there! Hello? ๐Ÿ˜‰

For My Ladies – Mooncup

First things first – if you’re a guy, you probably won’t be interested in this. But you could learn something new! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Fair warming.
I got my Mooncup today!

image

I didn’t try it yet, but actually can’t wait to do so!

image

image

I found out about it by accident when I was reading blogs here on WordPress about minimalist living. I thought Wow, how come I didn’t hear about it earlier?! Everyone knows about pads and tampons, but when I talked to my friends not one of them heard about the menstrual cup! :/

Although it’s apparently been around since 1930s, it sounds new and revolutionary to me!

Why I decided to try it?

  • Eco friendly – it is reusable and it can last you for years
  • Money saver – since it lasts for years you don’t need to buy new one each month
  • Simplicity – it is just one thing, reusable and more hygienic

Once I started googling and you tubing it, I realized there is a whole community of ladies out there who use it and talk about it! I found out so many useful information.

Here is a link of a lovely young lady who does videos about alternative hygienic products like cups and reusable pads. I love her! So young, no taboos, she talks freely and with no inhibitions. I learned so much from her! Her channel is called Precious Star Pads.

After researching about it I found out they actually sell it in my home country so a friend got it for me. It was around 32$.

Are any of you using it? What are your experiences with it! Leave a comment!

If you want to see how it goes for me, I will be writing about it again once I’ve used it, so press follow and stay tuned! =)

OOTD Boyfriend Sweater

I went to Dublin, but I forgot to pack a sweater. Luckily, I bought my boyfriend one and packed it so I wore his.
It was unexpected, but turned out really well! The sweater is so comfy I wish I bought one for myself! Then we could do the couple look with the same thing! X’D
I combined it with leggings, brown booties and a colourful necklace to break the monotony of black and grey and make it more fun. I think any statement necklace would work with this or anything else that would add a touch of femininity. I also wore a grey beanie.
