Minimalist Living – July

I know. July is not over yet, but I’m working tomorrow which means I’ll be wearing my uniform.

This month I wore a bit more clothes. One of the reasons, my favourite dark blue skinny jeans ripped and I had to throw them away. *sad* 😦

So I decided to put off buying them as long as I can. This ended in me going through my closet and discovering new/old things again. X) And wearing different jeans and not the same pair over and over again.

I did wear some dresses which I’m proud of and definitely more jeans.

But I have to make a confession. I’ve been shopping! :/

I couldn’t resist. I have a trip coming up! Going to Lisbon! Yaaay! Very excited! 😀

So I got a few things. All on sale though. Still… I’ll show you what I’ve bought in my next post.

How often do you fall off the wagon and go shopping? Or you don’t?

Please make me feel better! 😦 Leave a comment!

Be well everyone! =)

Also, please follow me on my other blog for travelling and more of lifestyle to come here and on my Instagram and Facebook page!

OOTD DIY Wrapped Necklace

His whole outfit revolves around this necklace I’ve made. What do you think about it? I hope you like it.

That’s why the outfit is so simple.

I wore a simple black T shirt to accentuate the necklace and bring it to focus point. Paired with ripped jeans just to give it a more edgy and interestig look. All with my lovely Startas of course. Just add a nice red lipstick and you’re ready to go!

What do you think?

Your support means a lot! 🙂

Back to my OOTD.

It is pretty simple, but that’s how my style has been lately. Simple.

I paired a striped T shirt (which always has a summer feel to it) with distressed denim overalls.

To bring a little colour I wore yellow flats and a white backpack just to keep it casual.

What do you think of it? Do you like it?

How do you style your overalls?

Leave a comment! =)

My First Thoughts on a Minimalist Closet

Six months have passed since I’ve started my little experiment.

For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about let me explain.

I am really intrigued with the idea of minimalist living and minimalist closet, but the thought of doing it now is a bit scary. That’s why I customized the idea to fit me.

I didn’t get rid of anything (yet), but I am simply keeping track of the outfits I wear and at the end of each month I do a post on what I wore.

You can take a look at all the months here:

As far as my dressing goes, I can definitely see a pattern and if I get rid of 90% of my wardrobe I can say I wouldn’t miss it.

TOP 3 THINGS I’VE LEARNED SO FAR

1.  You get to know yourself better

Once you start doing this for a while, you will get to know your style better.
You will see what you reach for and not and what you are missing in your closet. You will realize how many items you don’t really wear.

2. I don’t shop as much

Whenever I go to a mall and see something, I think twice now. I think back to this experiment, realize that I either have something similar in my closet already or I honestly say to myself that yes, it is nice, but I know deep down I wouldn’t really wear it.
Like I said, you get to know your styling needs better and thus you make better choices!

3. It is not that scary!

After half a year now I can honestly say the thought of getting rid of my clothes does not scare me that much anymore!
I have a pretty good picture of what I do and do not wear and what my lifestyle needs are. This helped me in a little wardrobe cleansing I already did.

In conclusion, I am really happy how my first six moths have passed! =)

I got to know myself better, I feel more free of the shopping frenzy and when I am getting dressed to go out I FEEL MORE CALM AND CONFIDENT.

What do you think?
Are you doing anything similar? If yes, what are your experiences? Do you agree with my thoughts?

I will be doing a post on how I cleaned out my closet.

So if you’re having trouble with it and are not sure how to approach it I will be sharing my experiences and how I tackled this problem. Stay tuned! 😉

Minimalist Living – June

Wow! It’s already been half a year since my little experiment started!

And I must say, I didn’t even feel it pass at all! And I didn’t miss anything!

Again I’m sticking to my well know.
Favourite skinny jeans and black T-shirt with some extra shirts. I am also proud of myself bacause I wore this romper and a dress which I wanted to do.
I think I had this romper in my closet for a looong time and never wore it. Didn’t have a chance so I’m happy I did! 🙂

Next month goal – also wear dresses! XD

Since it’s been half a year now, I will do a post on what I’ve learned now so stay tuned!
